Ceremony
Studley Parish Church Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Castle Road, Studley, B80 7AB
Using the postcode in your satnav will take you straight to the church. Access to the Parish Church is from the main A435 through Studley and down Castle Road. Any other access route is via narrow lanes and best avoided.
The A435 is accessible from J3 on M42 if you are coming from the north and A46 Stratford-upon-Avon if coming from the South (via the M40).
Don't confuse our venue, The Parish Church Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with the Roman Catholic Church of St Mary which is on the main A435 through Studley. We won't be there!
There is a small car park at the back of the church. Upon arriving at the church (with the church on your left), follow the road to the left and the small car park will be on your right, in front of the cemetery. If this is full, parking is allowed along the road but please keep the road clear for other cars to pass.
Please ensure the area in front of the church is clear for the wedding party. In sunny weather, the paths up to the church should be fine. However, after rain they can be muddy – we would ask you to be careful walking down these.

Gifts
Many of our guests have enquired for a gift idea to be inspired.
Like many young couples today, we have a lot of things anyway.
If you would like to give, it is our request,
for something for our treasure chest.
If you wish to give us something for our future together,
we have set up a gift list through Prezola.
You can look at our list by clicking on the link below:
https://prezola.com/buy/view/176291
There is the option to buy us one of our selected gifts or alternatively, a cash gift through the Prezola website. We can use any cash gifted to either put towards a honeymoon (which we haven’t yet planned!) or redeem against some of the gifts on the list that others haven’t already bought for us.
Richard
Richard grew up in Bedford, with many family trips to his birthplace of London featuring in his childhood. He learned the trumpet through the local music service, beginning a lifetime of, well, practice, splits and trumpet geekery. After moving down to London to continue his studies at university, he stayed on in London, experiencing and performing music in all sorts of situations – from hearing world class jazz at Ronnie Scott’s to playing fanfares from the top of a tower, he made the most of the opportunities that came his way.
Richard was lucky to make many strong friendships with colleagues, meeting a wider range of contacts and being offered more opportunities to play and tour. These led to him being invited to play for music festivals in the South West, Dartington and St Endellion – both of which have remained a big part of his life to date. Not least, in the case of Dartington for meeting Becky!
Becky
Becky has always loved music and growing up in a musical family fuelled that love even more. Her parents are musicians and always encouraged her to learn an instrument. She started on the clarinet but didn’t like reeds much so swapped to the cello. She quite liked the cello but all her friends played the flute so swapped again to be like them. Becky didn’t practise the flute very often therefore didn’t progress as far as she could have.
It was Becky ‘s mum who suggested trying the bassoon, ‘no one else plays it and you’ll be in high demand!’ She hadn’t heard of it until then so thought why not give it a go. It wasn’t love at first sight but grew to love it and it led to some wonderful opportunities and experiences which she will never forget! It enabled the chance to go to music college and complete two degrees. Without the bassoon, Becky wouldn’t be where she is today.
About Us
It’s thanks to the bassoon (and the trumpet) that Rich and Becky are together. In Summer 2013 they met playing for the Dartington Festival Orchestra. It took them 8 years (and a global pandemic) to finally get together! They managed to keep things a secret for several weeks which is quite an achievement when they lived over 100 miles apart. Eventually travelling that many miles began to take its toll so Becky moved to London. The rest is, as they say, history!
The proposal – In October 2023, Rich suggested heading to Paris under the guise of watching the Rugby World Cup. Under the sunny skies in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, he asked Becky a very important question, specifically ‘what do you fancy for lunch?’ He did then get down one knee and popped another very important question. Some South African rugby fans were starting their (drinking) warm ups for the day early nearby and saw the moment. They kindly gave us two paper cups filled with fizz and we toasted our future together.
